17/11/2004 - 19/11/2004, Barcelona
There is a fine balance between encouraging development and innovation in packaging, which benefits the consumer, and regulatory control to ensure consumer protection.
Following the success of the previous Symposia on Food Packaging: Ensuring the Quality and Safety of Foods, held in Budapest in September 1996, and in Vienna in November 2000, a follow-up symposium has been organised in Barcelona on 17-19 November 2004.
This symposium had the same objectives as the previous ones, i.e. to look at the advances being made in the underlying science relating to the safety, quality and traceability of packaged foods, to disseminate results of on-going research and to stimulate debate, while examining the implications for the future.
