Organised by the Post Market Monitoring (PMM) Expert Group, within the Novel Foods Task Force, this event presented and reviewed the draft paper on PMM. A wide range of stakeholders presented to discuss how this concept, which has increasingly received attention, can be applied to novel foods and to review and scientifically validate the scope and limitations of this approach within the risk management of novel foods.
The participants represented a broad range of expertise and the working group discussions were productive and often challenging. Issues such as the scope, need and available methodologies for PMM were debated with vigour and the outcome was fruitful and insightful, if not consensual.
The Expert Group would like to thank all the participants, speakers, Chairs and Rapporteurs of the workshop for all their hard work.
